Roz

An interactive robotic sound sculpture generating evolving harmonic environments through machine listening, spatial acoustics, and autonomous motion.

Roz is an interactive robotic sound sculpture that generates sustained harmonic textures which unfold slowly over time. Roz does not perform a fixed score; It senses, responds to, and evolves within space, transforming architecture into resonance.

The Experience

Visitors enter an immersive harmonic field rather than observe a traditional performance. Sound accumulates gradually, layering partials and overtones into a shifting atmospheric presence.

Each installation is shaped by room acoustics, environmental sound, and algorithmic decision-making. The space becomes part of the instrument.

Research & Technology

The collaborative creation of Creative Director Mark McCoin and Technical Director Nathan Wheeler, Roz integrates robotic motion systems, generative harmonic logic, and machine listening to explore the possibility of responsive sonic intelligence.

Rather than executing pre-programmed compositions, Roz investigates adaptive, listening-based systems that evolve in real time.
